This Blog is Lazy

The title of this post is an understatement. I do not blog, at all, although I would like to make it a habit. The title may as well apply to me also, change "blog" to "boy", because I am a lazy writer. I was supposed to be writing 50,000 words this month as a part of Nanowrimo, but that didn't happen. I often make reference to my days writing my own music mailing list (Ran for about half a year with twenty-some subscribers, then laziness crept in) or when I did small pieces for the now seemingly defunct Bandwagon music magazine, and I miss it a lot! I don't want to be one of those people who just talks about stuff that happened in the past, allowing it to distort itself over time into over exaggerated tall tales ("I can't say who picked up our tab that night but let's just say he could afford the scotch, and it was legendary... and it was Thom Yorke", that never happened).

So I'm going to kick up some dust and start writing music review again. My goals will be simple at first, a post a week featuring one or more CDs or singles. Thinking I might move to a new name too, and I will post the link and details later today.

I guess the point I'm trying to make is, I've done it before, I know I can do it again, and I will.

Here goes nothing!

I am an arse-pot

Ok, so I said I would post pictures and talk about my/our fan expo expierence, and then I didn't and my wife did. And so I am an arse-pot. But no one reads this blog anyway so no real harm done!

Really wanted to hit Trail of Dead tomorrow but I don't see that happening. Need to start saving money rather then spending it as soon as I have it. November is an expensive month see. NaNoWriMo requires LOTS of: Coffee money, pens, notepads, and last year I practically lived in pubs and cafes (Might have started dating that month which might explain all the coffee and pubs, but you know... shut up), so if I want to make this Nanowrimo a comfortable one, have to spend carefully now.

Thinking of going back to my idea about a kinda space western/medieval modern/steampunk themed religious alienation in space (Who do I think I am, Fred Pohl?), but we'll see. Also, choose your own adventure project. If I can't decide what to do then I'm going to do that. Maybe write 5 different 10,000 word adventures about they will be about Vampires going back to highschool and exploring preternatural relationships with teenage humans (seems to be a hot ticket right now), release them and make tens of thousands of cents.

Whenever I think about blogging (Which is often) the posts always sound wittier and funnier in my head, far more interesting then this dribble. I hope Nanowrimo turns out better.

Well, back to work, enjoy all the awesome movies and TV shows hitting in the next 30 days, maybe I'll write again when the robin returns to make it's nest (I ain't never coming back).

Take my love, take my land...

So Haley and I are watching (First time for her, probably 7th time for me) Firefly, the epically canceled Fox space opera... no, space western... no, space wild west saloon brawl gunslingin horse ridin super awesome show great job! She seems to enjoy it, especially the opening theme which she sings pretty much non stop 24/7 (last night in her sleep included). Only trouble is, Firefly is so b'dang short, and I know once she gets to the end of it she's going to want more, and my lively episode reenactments and LARP sessions will be meager in comparison to say, a second season.

Maybe I'll be inspired at fanexpo this weekend (OMFCASG!!) Updates and pictures will be posted!

Back for more

Ok, so I'm back, and to follow up on my last post, here is this:

Got married, that's all done and wrapped up. Hope to get all the pictures from that soon and be all like "Awww do you remember that time we got married?" to my wife long after it stops being cute!

The Dead Weather was amazing and fun, t-shirt acquired. Sonic Youth was one of the best things to happen to me since things that can be classified as "the best" started happening to me! The Yeah Yeah Yeah's hurt so good I puked my pants. All that being said I can't wait to go to a concert that's NOT at the Kool Haus, I have been there a few too many times this year.

Excited to see Shonen Knife is coming back! Bought tickets to see them two years ago but couldn't make it out that night much to my disappointment. There a lot of fun, and there isn't a lot that's survived from that era (grunge) still worth seeing (yes that includes Pearl Jam... seriously, "The Fixer" is the worst crap in life, preemptive boo on "Backspacer", one of many disappointments from one of the best bands of the 90s, but I digress, back to something awesome), not to mention the fact that their coming all the way from Japan. Seriously, too cool for kool haus, they will be playing at the Horseshoe. Also hope to grab the Horrors again and Trail Of Dead.

SHAMELESS WIFE STORE PLUG!
So my wickedly hot super awesome sexy wife is selling vintagy cool things on her new etsy store. Buy everything and make us rich! Look, her store is over here!

Other then that, working a lot. Even a weee little bit of construction work which is making me into a real man, with rough cut up hands that bleed profusely and I whine and complain about incessantly!

Hope this answers all your questionings!

A long high8us

Yo folks!

It's been about 9 years since I updated but here are the facts.
Met a girl
Fell in love
Got engaged
Discovered Twitter (The 140 character blog killer)

These things kinda distract you from updating blogs, and not being one who like to publicize personal events or facts about my sweet sweet super hot sexy love life (unless you follow my twitter), my blog went to the wayside.

Here are some happenings, happened and yet to happen.

Got to meet Tara MacPherson who is like the coolest person ever! She was signing for a show she was doing at Narwhal, dropping some loud heavy metal tunage as she did so from her i-phone. Got her to sign both of her books, and came within inches of buying $600 of prints.

Got to see the Kills play the night before that, the Horrors opened. It was amazing! Horrors are coming back in October, and I already have tickets to see The Dead Weather preform Kool House this July. It's going to be a "coming out of hibernation" present for Haley and I (It's about a week after we get back from our Honeymoon).

Speaking of wedding, it's coming along well. In the new apartment, painting this week, then assembly weekend, then I'll work on getting all my stuff in the new place, then parents and guests will show up, probably have at least one fight with the new landlord about the small army I'm housing upstairs, get married, go on Honeymoon, come home and kick out the loafers, not leave the house for a week and order in Chinese, pizza, and an unholy amount of alcohol!

Gonna meet Junko Mizuno this week with some like minded individuals (Her art is not for everyone, my parents especially, in fact I have no idea what your talking about Mom and Dad, someone just typed all this stuff on my blog). Gonna try to get a print signed, if I haven't already sold it back in the great 2008 depression that was.

Thats all to report right now, or I should say, all that I have planned for the near future. Definitely going to FanExpo this year, but weather or not I'm in costume has yet to be decided.
